Innovation & Technology Transfer

Being a technological leader and harnessing the power of innovation are important success factors. That’s why the remit of the Economic Promotion Team includes providing support to local companies in the areas of innovation and technology.

The Economic Promotion Team works closely with specialist technology platforms such as the Schaffhausen Industry & Technology (ITS) Knowledge Hub, the IPI International Packaging Institute and the RhyTech Materials World Technology Park. The aim is to strengthen SMEs in the region by sharing information and practice relating to technology and innovation and also to raise the profile of Schaffhausen as a centre for tech businesses.

  • ITS Industrie- und Technozentrum Schaffhausen: The Schaffhausen Industry & Technology (ITS) Knowledge Hub connects tech business in the region, develops their capability to innovate and assists with technology transfer and the launch of new projects. Reflecting its role as a hub and its knowledge and technology transfer activity, ITS is also involved in the development of business clusters.
  • IPI International Packaging InstituteThe purpose of the IPI International Packaging Institute is to connect players in the packaging sector and to forge links with specialist university institutes. IPI runs a schedule of training programmes for technical and managerial staff and organises briefings and Hot Topic events as well as bespoke company-specific seminars on packaging technology issues.
  • RhyTech Materials WorldRhyTech Materials World is a Technology Park dedicated to Materials Science and Surface Structures and is located in Neuhausen am Rheinfall in the Canton of Schaffhausen. The RhyTech Park provides a first-class technological environment to support start-ups, tech companies and university institutes.
